Little Walkers
Registered for 13 children, staff to child ration 1:4, 1:8
Little Walkers is designed for children from 2 years of age. A bright, colourful and airy room with access to the
quiet room with a focus on helping children prepare for the transition to the foundation stage.
The wide-range of play equipment encourages independence through self-selection, curiosity and discovery which is both stimulating
and fun! There are lots of activities including dressing up, puppets, construction, messy play, with a gentle
introduction to science, the world around them and I.T.

There is a more structured routine within the room.
Each child has a sleep mat to sleep on, we have buggies in which children can sleep outside in the fresh air.
The room has access to the garden.
The term after your child's 3rd birthday they can move to Little Learners which is based within the Foundation Unit
at St Stephen's First School, from this point on your child is learning in preparation for school. Little Learners
is a big space which has lots of different areas of learning along with an outdoor classroom. The unit is led by a
teacher and our own qualified nursery nurses. When your child reaches three they are entitled to 15 hours per week free which equates
to 3 hours per day.
