At Holly Trees we have a wonderful out door play space it has been designed by Bishops Wood Environmental Centre. It has a "Danish" theme, with a large grassed area which has a wooden story tellers chair and stools for the children to sit on, balancing beams, wooden cottages, sail shade, built in sand pit and large growing area where we can grow our own produce with the children. In addition to this we have a large paved area which also has wooden cottages and a covered area with picnic benches.
Where and when possible we extend the nurseries indoor play opportunities out doors, giving the children lots of time to get fresh air and enjoy the outdoors.
Holly Trees day nursery use outside caterers to provide a nutritional well balanced hot meal. There is a rolling four week menu which is displayed on the parents/carers notice board within the nursery.
Children who attend a full day or an 8.00am - 1.00pm session will receive breakfast and a hot meal with desert at lunch time, children under 1 year of age will receive a hot meal once fully weaned.
Healthy snacks are served during the day and there is also a four week rolling menu with all special dietary requirements catered for.
When a child starts at Holly Trees Day nursery they are entitled to two 2 ½ hour settling in sessions. This gives you the chance to meet the staff team and for your child to have some time within the nursery.
It also gives you the opportunity to discuss your child's needs, requirements and routines which will enable the staff to cater for their individual needs.
The nursery is well equipped and each room has a wide range of age appropriate resources which will enhance their development.
The importance of messy play is vital in a child's development, finger painting, sand & water, shaving foam play, mud play, and jelly play will be a regular activity within the nursery.
All activities support the National Birth to Three & Foundation Stage Framework.
Within the nursery we operate a No Shoe Policy, as children spend most of there time on the floor we feel it is important that the carpets are kept as clean and hygienic as possible: shoe covers are available.
The nursery is set within Holly Trees Children's Centre, it is has two secure doors with key coded locks the codes are only available to centre staff.
